Sometimes in everyday life there is a need to make something from wire. In most cases, it should be as flat as possible for this. The problem is that due to the specifics of storing the wire, it is almost never even. It is not so difficult to fix it, at least if you are familiar with one "folk" trick. It allows even the thickest rolled products to be flattened quickly and without much hassle.

So, before you tackle the daunting task of straightening thick wire, you need to get ready. To crank the whole operation, you need some kind of tool, including a homemade one. You will need a welding machine, preferably with a "native" or homemade on / off button. Also, be sure to prepare personal protective equipment, especially hand gloves.

Now for the homemade tool. There is nothing complicated about it. In fact, these are just any two sections of a shaped pipe, to which nuts must be welded on one side (washers can be used). When everything is ready for work, you can start straightening the wire.

We attach one contact of the welding machine to the first piece of pipe. The other contact is respectively connected to the second pipe segment. After that, we cut off a piece of wire from the skein of the length of interest to us. Using pliers, we make a fixing bend at each end, about 1 cm.

We use the created hooks to fix the wire on the washers welded to the pipe sections. We stretch the wire as much as possible, after which we turn on the welding machine. We are waiting for the wire to glow red hot. As soon as this happens, turn off the device and wait for the material to cool. As a result, we get an almost perfectly straight piece of wire.
