It is difficult to imagine a situation where a person may need to boil water in a plastic bottle. However, anything can happen in life. You won't have to choose between water from a muddy puddle and boiled water for a long time. If there is no other container at hand, except for a plastic bottle, then you can even dodge with it. We make a fire in the hole and set the bottle on the perches from the branch so that the flames barely touch its bottom. During boiling, you can gradually increase the intensity of the fire burning, throwing up some wood. With the necessary skill, 0.5 liters can be boiled in this way in 40-60 minutes.
Important: when using this method of boiling, the bottle of water must be full to the brim. Otherwise, upon contact with fire, the plastic will begin to deform rapidly until there is a free space in the empty bottle.
