Every motorist with experience knows very well that before the onset of frost, it is necessary to drain all the water from the washer barrel and start using a special composition together with it. However, everything happens in life and sometimes you can forget even about such an important thing in terms of car care. If there was water in the tank, and the frost has already hit, then it will inevitably turn into ice. In such a situation, you need to know what and how to do, so as not to break even more firewood.
When water is frozen in the tank of a man in the street, the first thing that comes to mind is to turn on the engine as soon as possible and try to warm everything up. The problem with this method is that “everything” cannot be warmed up. If this trick can still work with the reservoir itself, then with numerous pipes it will not. And the water with a high degree of probability managed to turn into ice in them too.
As you might guess, waiting until spring until everything thaws by itself is also not an option. The only lucky ones in such a situation are drivers who have a warm garage nearby. However, in this case, you still have to wait a long time. Considering all this, the most reasonable and effective solution would be to resort to one trick.
If it has happened that the water has frozen in the tank, and you need to go, then the simplest and most effective thing that can be done is to go to the car wash. Washing the car takes from 30 to 50 minutes. Unlike a warm garage, car washes are located in many places. While the car is being looked after, the water in the tank and pipes is guaranteed to melt and can be drained out immediately afterwards. In addition, by visiting the car wash, you will be able to kill two pigs with one stone - waxing the body, a procedure that is never superfluous.
Of course, you can try to resort to frankly dubious "folk" methods, namely, try to warm the tank and pipes with a hairdryer or heat vodka / alcohol / non-freeze and pour it into the tank in the hope that it will help. In fact, it is best to melt the ice in a "natural" way in a warm room and not force the machine units with the experiments described above. If there is no time for the garage or salon and you need to go right now, then it is best to take a bottle of water with you and wash the glass by hand when things get really bad.
In order not to get into such situations, it is worth once and for all to take for yourself the custom - to carry out a set of measures to prepare the car for winter. The easiest way is to replace all working fluids during “changing shoes” with winter tires.
