Any emblem or coat of arms carries a meaning. Automotive logos of Soviet factories are no exception in this regard. While some businesses have changed nameplates throughout their history, others have gone with a single one. Let's look at the logos of the iconic factories of that era.
1. Automobile plant named after Lenin Komsomol

Soviet AZLK at different times bore different names. He managed to be the Moscow Automobile Assembly Plant, the Communist International of Youth and the Moscow Small Car Plant. However, the geographical location of the enterprise did not change, and with it the design of the emblem - the tower with the star and the wall of the Moscow Kremlin.
2. Volzhsky Automobile Plant

The VAZ enterprise from Togliatti has one of the most stylish emblems. Most people will see anything in the emblem, but not what is actually drawn. In reality, the nameplate depicts a Slavic boat, the sailing ship of our ancestors. Why exactly it? Because Togliatti is on the Volga.
3. Gorky Automobile Plant

Most compatriots are so used to the deer on the GAZ emblem that they are very surprised to learn that this symbol was adopted only after the war. The first car with such a logo was the ZIM GAZ-12 model. Soviet designer Lev Eremeev placed a proud, swift and fearful animal on the logo.
4. Yerevan Automobile Plant

Today, not many people remember about the YerAZ plant, but once it was a very important automotive company in Armenia. As you might easily guess, there is a mountain on the emblem of the factory. Considering where exactly this enterprise was located, it can be assumed that this is Mount Ararat.
5. Kurgan Bus Plant

The KavZ plant also placed a geographical reference on its emblem. The enterprise is located in Kurgan in the Urals. The emblem bears a strong resemblance to the city's coat of arms. The Ural mountains are actually depicted on it. This enterprise was once widely known for its bonnet buses.
6. Riga Bus Factory

At one time, this plant was considered the main supplier of minibuses in the country. With the RAF emblem, everything is quite simple. The Latin letters RAF are placed on the image of the bus chassis. No hidden meaning, but this is wonderful. Looking at such an emblem, you immediately understand what the manufacturer is doing.
7. Zaporozhye Automobile Plant

The Soviet Kommunar plant has changed several emblems in its history. The enterprise became famous throughout the country for the creation of the legendary Zaporozhets line. The most successful and well-known logo, however, is this one with the image of a local landmark - Dneproges.
