If someone still thinks that mobile homes are not made in Russia, then they certainly have not seen an impressive KamAZ at the price of a metropolitan apartment called "Artika". This all-terrain vehicle with a comfortable and thoughtful living module is ideal for conquering and exploring the wildest, harshest and most difficult places in the country.

In Russia, you can find a lot of very expensive trucks, in particular KamAZ vehicles. Most often this is a specialized technique. For example, there is a sophisticated tow truck on the market that costs 15 million rubles. Not bad, huh? And then there is such a KamAZ-Arctic, which costs 12 million rubles. But why? What is so special about this truck, especially for a car created in the vastness of the vast Fatherland? Let's take a closer look.

You can buy an apartment for 12 million rubles. And you can spend them on KamAZ-Arctic and live in general wherever you like. Of course, 5 square meters is not even the most modest "kopeck piece", but it is a mobile home with all the necessary amenities. Inside there is a toilet, shower and (almost) a full kitchen with even a microwave oven. Such a car is a traveler's dream.

An accessory worthy of mention is the heating in the cupboard. It was made so that clothes were always warm, and it was not scary to go out even in the most severe frost. When the jacket is warm inside - minus 50 no longer seems such a problem. The residential module of the truck allows you to live up to three days completely autonomously. If necessary, it (the module) can even be removed from the truck and installed on the ground.

The only "but" in the matter of providing comfort is that the cabin and the module for living are not connected by any passage or hatch. This means that in order to relax or, on the contrary, to go further, you will have to leave a warm place and walk along the street. The lack of connection is due to the desire of engineers not to unnecessarily complicate the design of the machine to travel through the most severe corners.

By the way, let's talk about the Arctic cabin. She's the most common here. It was taken from the KAMAZ 5350 model. It differs only in the presence of a hatch on the ceiling, which was cut for evacuation from the car in case of an emergency. Under the cab there is a "classic" diesel with a volume of 12 liters and a capacity of 400 "horses". The unit operates with a 16-speed "mechanics" ZF.

Another important feature of KamAZ-Arctic is its wheels. They are big, very big. Their width is 70 centimeters. Because of them, there is almost no room for the steering mechanism in the design! Due to the size of the wheels, the bright heads of the KAMAZ STC, MAMI, Polytech and Baumanka even had to use an articulated frame, which “breaks” the all-terrain vehicle when the steering wheel is turned approximately in the middle. According to Novate.ru, an Artika with an 8x8 wheeled model should appear in the future.
