On the shores of the Baltic Sea on the territory of the reserve To the Pope (Pape) is an original country cottage. In designing its form, architects were inspired by the outlines of the dunes found in the area. All windows are facing the sea, allowing the owners to relax after the hustle and bustle of megacities.

Design Studio Archispektras implemented a project of a country house called Dunelocated in the Latvian place of Pape overlooking the Baltic Sea. The design is characterized by sharp geometric lines that contrast with the lush greenery of the surrounding landscape. At the same time, natural wood shades were chosen as the main colors of the facade of the house.

The area of the house is 175 square meters. The building has an oblong shape, so one functional living area sequentially flows into another. In addition, all windows face the Baltic Sea.

The fireplace, attached to the ceiling, acts as a divider between the living room and dining area. In addition, the emphasis on the vertical lines makes the ceiling visually higher. The natural wood used in the decoration of the home makes the minimalist interior feel more comfortable.

The shape of the dunes has inspired not only Latvian architects. In Great Britain there is no less original a house with a non-standard roof resembling angular embankments.
