With summer approaching, each of us wants to get to the sea and soak up the gentle embrace of sea water, or simply abandon the worldly bustle in the lap of nature, but unfortunately, not everyone succeeds. And in such a situation, people solve the very difficult task of organizing their rest and leisure in different ways. For example, a Briton who has been unable to go on vacation with his wife for several years in a row because of the constant workload, decided to create a real tropical paradise in his own backyard in order to arrange a real holiday for his beloved.

Christopher and Sharon Lodge, who are engaged in the construction business, have not been able to afford to go on vacation somewhere in warm countries for six years, or even leave their yard. Not only do the spouses have labor obligations, but they have been caring for a sick dog for many years, which cannot be left at home alone, and even more so to take with them on trips.

This circumstance saddens his spouse so much that Chris decided to take a very extraordinary step - turning his yard into a real tropical corner: to a tropical paradise ".

According to Novate. Ru, the 44-year-old man has never had anything to do with gardening, but to please his wife, he created a real tropical paradise in the climate of Foggy Albion.

Interesting fact: Foggy Albion is a figurative name for England, dating back to ancient times. The word "albion" (from the Latin "albus" - "white" or from the Celtic root meaning "mountains"; compare "Alps") means Britain. But the "foggy" is still controversial, some scientists believe that this is from the constant sea fogs, dragging the British Isles. But others - that this is not a climatic feature, but a real smog that has been enveloping the country since the 18th-20th centuries, because already at that time the country of England was leading in the field of industry, and the people were suffocating from soot and burning.

Chris was prompted to such an extraordinary idea by the most ordinary willow growing in the backyard of his plot, because in its appearance it reminded him of an impressive trip to the jungle, which was still in childhood, but remained a bright spot in his memory. Such exotic transformations captured the man to such an extent that he spent every minute of his free time in a construction unusual for a builder.

Of course, his professional experience helped him masterfully plan and make most of the exhibits, but he learned gardening tricks thanks to the Internet. In addition to carefully studying what exotic plants can survive in the British climate, he rebuilt an old useless barn into a real bungalow, covering it with dry grass and leaves. And then he planted many plants that exactly recreate the atmosphere of the jungle.

All of its interior decoration also matches the interiors of huts that can be found in tropical countries, with the same attributes, furniture and the smallest items purchased from online stores.

In front of his exotic home, which he and his wife called the "Quirky Tiki's hut," he built a wooden platform where real palms and even cacti grow. Chris made a bench with his own hands from a solid pile of wood, laid out the flooring of stone, built a bridge with rope rails and decorated a delightful lawn. A lot of exhibits and the smallest items had to be bought in tropical countries, because not everything could be found in England.

All these transformations took as much as 2 years of hard work, but the good-natured giant (you can't call him any other way) does not regret a bit: “I just love to create things that make people happy and put a smile on their faces. It all took a long time and was spent about £ 35,000, but every hour and every penny spent is worth it if it makes us and other people smile.”

And now, when all the transformation is over, Christopher is happy to look after his extraordinary tropical oasis for these parts and often spends time here with his wife Sharon, relaxing after hard work. And their dog is very fond of the green lawn and his personal chair.

“We can come here to our Quirky Tiki hut, grab a cocktail or latte and relax. Here we feel that we are on the other side of the world, because looking at all this, you will never guess that you are in the depths of the garden of Great Britain."
