Sooner or later, in the household or summer cottage, it may become necessary to bend the pipe. Most often it is necessary to do this at 90 degrees. Most of the masters will unanimously declare that for such an operation a special tool is needed - a pipe bender. And only a little know that you can get out of a difficult production situation with the help of a grinder and a welding machine.
What you need: grinder, putty, paint, tape, paper and ruler, welding machine
It is possible to bend a metal pipe without any special tools. It is enough to have in the household the things listed above, as well as a certain amount of free time and at least approximately straight arms. The first step is to cut out a rectangle from paper with a length equal to the length of the pipe circumference, and the width - two pipe diameters.
The resulting rectangle is bent in half, after which two lines are made on the bend on both sides of the paper with an indent of 1 cm. After that, the leaf is wrapped around the pipe with lines outward, and its edges are fixed with tape. On the pipe, markings are drawn around the edges of the fixed sheet.
On the markings made on a piece of paper, it is necessary to apply transverse risks with a step of 5 mm along which circles are drawn in the future. Next, the grinder is taken into the hands. The pipe is fixed. Cutting is performed along the marked circles. After making cuts along the strips, every second strip is removed using a suitable tool (pressed inward).
Now the pipe can be easily bent, even with your hands. After that, it is necessary to grind the bend and remove all excess. Then putty comes into play, which will solve problems with a potential leak. For greater structural reliability, it is recommended to paint the pipe.
