For the first time, this military vehicle was presented back in 2002 at the Moscow International Automobile Salon. Almost two decades have passed, and during this time "Tiger" only got prettier and became even better. Today the vehicle is used not only in the Russian army, but also in a number of other power structures. It's time to learn a little more about the military off-road vehicle and look inside the car.

The Russian armored car "Tiger" appeared not without the help of the UAE. In the late 1990s, the Middle Eastern state ordered a new armored car for its own needs, allocating $ 60 million for the development of the car. Ultimately, the development of the Tiger was taken over by Industrial Computer Technologies, a subsidiary of the Gorky Automobile Plant. Aleksandr Andreevich Korshunov became the chief designer of the project. In 2001, a novelty in three variations was shown at the IDEX-2001 International Arms Exhibition in Abu Dhabi, and a year later the car was shown in Russia itself. In the domestic open spaces, the car received the designation GAZ-2975 "Tiger".

Serial production of GAZ-2975 "Tiger" has been carried out since 2005. With dimensions of 5670x2200x2000 mm, the machine weighs from 5.3 to 7.6 tons, depending on the filling used. With 335/80 R20 tires, the track is 1840 mm. Vehicle clearance - 400 mm. Combat variants of the "Tiger" are equipped with armor with 3 class of ballistic protection in accordance with GOST R 50963-96. The vehicles are powered by a Russian turbo-diesel power unit with 150 hp and 420 Nm. The transmission of the combat off-road vehicle is automatic.

The Tiger can be armed with a 30-mm 2A72 cannon, Kord or Pecheneg machine guns, and an AGS-30 automatic grenade launcher. A characteristic feature of armored vehicles is their use of the "Crossbow" system. This is a set of devices for firing from weapons mounted on a turret. It consists of a camera with a target recognition range at a distance of up to 1.5 km, a thermal imager and, most importantly, a remote control system that allows you to fire directly from the passenger compartment of the armored vehicle so that the gunner-gunner remains relatively safe.
