When it comes to a pet, many first of all call cats. It just so happened that purrs live with people everywhere and feel great at the same time. Our people also like this neighborhood, but in New Zealand activists recently came forward with a proposal to ban keeping cats at home. They claim there is a good reason for this.
Cats are not as harmless as they seem at first glance. After all, by their nature, they are predators and are constantly looking for an opportunity to hunt. All cat owners were faced with the fact that their pet brought them prey - a fly or a beetle, a mouse or even a sparrow.

This passion for hunting was the reason why the New Zealand town of Omaui decided to ban cats. Environmentalists are sounding the alarm and claim that several dozen animals and reptiles have already disappeared from the face of the earth, and they were exterminated - domestic cats. So that New Zealand's biodiversity does not suffer so much, it was decided to reduce the number of pets in homes.

Of course, the question is approached as humanely as possible. Cats, who now live in houses, are not in danger. Their census and chipping will be initiated so that each owner knows where his pet is. In addition, the purr will be castrated. After the death of the animal, the owners will no longer be allowed to have a new one.

Activists plan that if such measures lead to the stabilization of the environmental situation, then a similar ban will apply to other regions of the country. The reaction of cat owners to such drastic measures is not yet known.
I would like to believe that bans on keeping cats at home will be local. Even scientists have proven that life is not the same without a cat. In confirmation of this - 10 scientific facts, testifying that a cat at home will help develop intelligence, improve health and even … find a mate for an inveterate bachelor.
