Beauty lies in imperfection - the Dutch designer is sure, creating a series of broken furniture. It loses some of its original practicality, but it becomes a unique accessory. The collection includes dressers, mirrors, tables and bookshelves, faced with brute physical force.

Designer Lennart Van Uffelen - a famous rebel. He is not interested in the functionality of furniture and its aesthetics, in which there is not a drop of humor. “A broken shelf illustrating the connection between a piece of furniture and its owner is much more beautiful than evenly spaced books,” the designer says.

The mirror is one of the most functional items in the collection, but only for people completely devoid of superstition. Mirrors with picturesque cracks are attached to the walls with ordinary nails - with the help of which, as if, they were broken.

The table, where the role of one leg is played by an ax, allows you to finish thinking up a whole humorous story. It is advisable that the broken pieces of wood are nearby - this will make the image more complete. The table is made of solid ash and is completely usable - of course, from the side, whose integrity is not violated.

The classic chest of drawers, divided into two parts, is the most elegant item in the entire design series. Simply split in two, it would be completely useless - but four chrome legs keep it upright and store items on the now six internal shelves.

The cabinet on which the cast-iron chandelier had landed was slightly askew, but stood. This kind of bookshelf was specially designed for the Belgian poverty alleviation organization. The bookcase is made of metal and the chandelier is made of solid oak. The non-standard distribution of materials fully reflects the philosophy of the designer, who is ready to turn everything upside down. Among similar creative projects presented this year, one can single out a wardrobe made from the remains of old furniture.
