Engineers at the Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) have developed a very unusual electric car with the title Armadillo-T … Its distinguishing feature is the fact that this vehicle can shrink when parking, and therefore he needs very little space for parking.
Most of today's electric vehicle manufacturers try to make these vehicles as comfortable, beautiful and similar to ordinary cars as possible. However, there are a number of engineers and designers who prioritize research goals in their activities. This is how quite unusual electric vehicles such as Hiriko Citycar EV or Armadillo-T cars appear.
The Armadillo-T electric car, developed in South Korea, itself has a fairly modest size (its length is only 2.8 meters). But when stopping, it can also shrink strongly - raise the rear part above the ground, driving it over the front.
This is necessary in order to save parking space and stop even on a very small piece of flat space. The creators of Armadillo-T say that this electric car needs only 1 meter 65 centimeters for these purposes, which is three times less than the dimensions of a standard car.
At the same time, the four-wheel drive Armadillo-T allows it to rotate in place 360 degrees, which will allow the electric car to go out on the road, even being propped up by other cars on three sides. The creators of the car, wishing to achieve the maximum compactness of their brainchild, deprived it of side mirrors, replacing them with video cameras.
In all other respects, the Armadillo-T is a typical modern urban electric car. It can move at a speed of 60 kilometers per hour and has a power reserve of 100 kilometers per battery charge.
