Sometimes it seems that creating the most incomprehensible watches is the main goal of the designers involved in this business. Here is Christian Postma (Christiaan
Postma) has developed such a watch in which the inscriptions of the watch are folded by the movement of the sticks. Minutes? Why are they..
Christian was born and studied in Holland, but has now moved to Stockholm and works in the art industry. Her ideas are unusual and exciting. She says she draws them from the contrast between different areas of design. What is customary in one is unusual and interesting in another. Combining different facets of design, she manages to create an unexpected project.
To create this watch, Christian had to make more than 150 watch movements work as a single mechanism. The arrows form words from “One” to “Twelve”, corresponding to the time. You can watch the clock forever, realizing how time passes, studying the movement of each hand and understanding how it will fit into the letter "s" in the word "seven" at the right time. And minutes with such a clock are really not needed.
You can watch how the clock works with your own eyes here.
