Inspiration can come from anywhere. Books, our dreams, newspaper articles and news reports … Sometimes even unpleasant, alarming cases from our lives. Take, for example, the collection of crystal glassware that was shown at the exhibition in Milan.
It was developed by Koncern Design Studio for Rückl Crystal and has a very telling name - Domestic Violence. Gold Edition". As you might guess, the items of this collection fully confirm their name. It includes a glass and a carafe for red wine, a martini glass, a cocktail glass, a vase, a plate “cut in half” and a meat knife.
All items are made of gilded crystal and the knife is made of gold. It looks creepy, and obviously won't be a good wedding present. Because by presenting such a set of dishes, a married couple is actually predicted constant scandals, possibly beatings and other troubles. Be that as it may, even things like domestic violence are reflected in the design.
In any case, designers can safely put a plus for the find and execution, because the items turned out to be as close to the name as possible.
