Nowadays, you won't surprise anyone with wooden toys. They are considered unattractive, uninteresting, and outdated. However, your opinion about them can change significantly thanks to the collection from the Take-G company. Artist Takeji Nakagawa uses the basics of the Japanese craft Yosegi-Mokuzougan in his work. And such funny toys are obtained. On his website, he talks about the work as follows:
“I am often asked why I make my robots out of wood? To be honest, I really do not know the answer to this question, but still, probably because I associate them with the future. How do you feel about the future, what do you expect from it? Do you want to see cities full of metal, glass and plastic structures and structures, just like in sci-fi movies? I do not think that humanity can live without trees and plants, no matter what the latest technologies are invented.
When I think about the future, I cannot help but think about the past times. Trees took tens, hundreds of years to grow, form and show us all their beauty. I think that I, as a designer and artist, just have to praise trees and breathe new life into them. Therefore, thanks to my work, I can establish a connection between the past and the future, what was a hundred years ago and what will be in a hundred years."
