Korean-born, Eindhoven-based designer Joonsoo Kim decided to create a project called The Moment of Fall. He pondered the problem of things that are in the air, and came to the conclusion that they would look interesting.
He investigated many different situations, watched how objects look when they fall, whether they change their properties.
Finally, he created such an interesting cup design.
Here is what the designer himself says: “I was inspired by a famous artist. Bas Jan Ader died or disappeared without a trace, it is still unknown, in 1975 at the age of 33. He tried to cross the Atlantic Ocean in a sailboat, thereby challenging the boundaries between art and his own life. Then his work was really breathtaking. He experimented with all fields of art: film, photography, various installations and productions. Until now, his work has influenced many young artists and designers who consider art not just a fun adventure in their life, but a process of discovering something new, unknown."
