If I say that the Hague-based architecture company Queeste Architecten faced a difficult task to equip a full-fledged apartment with a sleeping place, a kitchen, a bathroom on an area of 30 square meters - many will grin. Say, unprecedented, we all live like this.

Nevertheless, it is not so easy to equip everything you need in the attic of a house in The Hague, given that it is not divided into rooms, so that there is no end to those who want to rent these apartments.

So, on thirty square meters, there is a sleeping place for two people, a dining place for at least four people, a toilet with a shower, a fully equipped kitchen, a place to store various things.

So the goal was to make the most of the small space available, while providing all the comforts of luxury rental housing. In addition, Maff apartments must be unique, individual, so that the visitor has a sense of uniqueness.

So, visually, the area is divided into zones. When you enter a room, you find yourself in the center of these zones. On one side there are shelves for storing things, a sink, a toilet and a shower cubicle. Instead of a mirror, there is a small window above the sink, which allows you to brush your teeth and admire the view of The Hague.

The kitchen connects the two parts of the apartment through their central part. During the day, it is flooded with dazzling and cheerful sunlight penetrating through four huge sloping windows. The advantages of the attic are obvious.

The kitchen flows smoothly into the dining area: a sofa around a small table. On one side, the sofa goes into the sleeping area.

The highlight of the apartments is the limitation of shapes and colors. The rounded corners came in very handy in such a small space - they create a feeling of softness and comfort.

The dark, dull color of the solid, seamless floor is taken as the basis. All other surfaces are painted white. The only exception is the deep orange dining couch. It draws attention to the "social" area of the apartment, and also echoes the predominantly orange roofs of the historic center of The Hague.
