One of three concepts Chrysler has brought to the Detroit Auto Show is the Jeep Renegade. Let us remind you that the appearance of the concept was created by our compatriot Anton Shamenkov, we congratulate him on "/>

The Jeep Renegade is a small, sporty two-seater SUV with a lightweight aluminum construction, designed for all-weather use, whether it be on a cloudy rainy day somewhere in the wilds of the forest, or for driving along the beach in sunny and warm weather. Thanks to the simplified design of the car, it was possible to significantly reduce its weight, and the developers also tried to minimize the list of materials used for the production of Jeep Renegade. The hybrid powerplant consists of lithium-ion batteries with a range of 40 miles when fully charged, and a 1.5-liter BLUETEC 3-cylinder diesel engine. Estimated fuel consumption is only 1 gallon per 110 miles. The total power of the entire power plant is 268 horsepower.

Naturally, the concept has a proprietary "jeep" radiator grille with seven slots, but, in contrast to the sketches, the vertically arranged headlight blocks were replaced with classic round ones. It's a pity - with vertical ones it was better. Also, having reached the real prototype, the car became somewhat "stout", the edges of the surfaces (in comparison with the sketches) became less clear.

However, the character of the Jeep Renegade did not deteriorate from this - it only became kinder, like the 1998 Jeepster concept. The rear lights turned out to be funny - the crosses scream that they are brake lights. This is with regards to appearance …

And the interior was invented by Scott Anderson - inside the two-seater concept everything is made in the same style as the exterior - smoothed corners, steering wheel shapes, dashboards, similar in style to elements of lighting. In the center we see the on-board computer display, which displays all the information necessary on the road.

So, Jeep Renegade is undoubtedly a full-fledged SUV, with features of classic "jeeps", but with a new look into the future of the brand, says Alexander Krasnov on the pages of CarDesign.ru
