I don’t know about yours, but the school I went to was a concrete brick with windows. And most of the other schools, which I had the good fortune to visit, also did not differ in any unusual finds. But as it turned out, this does not happen everywhere, and there are schools in the world that, by their unusualness, attract students from all over the world.

1) Cave School, Ziyun, China

The first number we have is an elementary school in Guizhou province in China, which is located in a cave. As you can see in the photos, the school is located in a natural cave on the side of a mountain and looks absolutely incredible. The conditions there are quite decent, and I think it will be useful for the children to receive some invaluable lessons that the location of the school offers them.

2) Underground School, North Virginia, USA

Terraset Elementary School in Reston is one of the few schools on earth to have been built underground. The decision to build a school underground was associated with an energy crisis in the 70s, which led to the need to create as energy-demanding a school as possible in order to continue to provide the necessary knowledge to children despite the crisis.

To begin with, a small hill in a large forest area was leveled and a school was built in its place, and then it was covered with earth.

You can read more about the school and the problems that arose during construction here.

3) Floating school, Halon Bay, Vietnam

Most tourists visiting Vietnam end their excursion in Halon Bay, which is a huge coastline and about two thousand islands of different sizes. There are entire floating villages around these islands, many of whose inhabitants have never lived on solid land. This explains the large number of floating schools in the region and the huge number of school boats that are replacing traditional buses.

The sign reads "The construction of this facility was funded by the United Kingdom Embassy through the National Fund for Vietnamese Children."

4) Monolithic Dome School, Arizona, USA

When you look at this school, there is no doubt that it was built by an extraterrestrial civilization, it does not look too much like ordinary Earth buildings. And her name is the most that neither is suitable - "border elementary school." Its structure - a monolithic dome - has recently been a very popular construction method due to the cheapness of materials and the strength of the structure. First, a round concrete base was installed, on which a dome of the required size was then blown out and fixed using various materials, including concrete.

You can read more about the construction of the dome here.

5) Transport school from industrial containers, Amsterdam, the Netherlands

This small beauty is the "de kleine kapitein" school in Amsterdam. We hope that this is only a temporary building for a kindergarten, the building of which will be completed by 2009. Of course, there is nothing good about getting children to go to kindergartens made from industrial containers, even if they are painted in cheerful colors. But Amsterdam is growing by leaps and bounds, and more kindergartens are needed, and their construction takes time. Therefore, a way was found in the form of containers that are easy and cheap to transport. And what about the children..children like it!
