“One of my favorite styles of interior design is the Gustavian style, exclaims Gabrielle Blair. - Do you remember what this style is? A small excursion into history.

The style was named after King Gustav III, who ruled Sweden from 1771 to 1792. The style was popular for about another 30-40 years after his death, which maybe not too long. However, true fans of this direction like it these days, including me. What are the main criteria for this style?

Large room filled with light; no carpets on the floor or walls; large, bare windows without any curtains or tulles. To some, this style will probably seem depressing, cold, joyless and dull, however, I can say for sure that the rooms, made in the colors of the Gustavian period and the Swedish style, are some of the warmest and most desirable in them I have ever saw.

Usually, the main colors of this style are cream, white, blue and gray. Given the darkness that covers Sweden during the winter months, it's no surprise that Swedes have been filling their homes with light for centuries. In addition to the above features, there are several more. For example, a large antique clock. This is not a prerequisite, but they will be very beneficial to complement the interior. Hand-painted furniture, neoclassical shapes are also welcome.

Since the style is classic, there are great opportunities for you to create your own room design the way you want it to be: older style or modern."

I still like modern, it looks more interesting.
