The Crafts and Design Show kicked off in Australia on January 19 and runs until March 23, 2008.
It featured ceramics by five of Australia's finest artists such as Robin Best, Stephen Benwell, Bronwyn Kemp, Vipoo Srivilasa and Gerry Wedd. On display were vases, clay figurines, jugs, and even … slippers! We doubt they can be worn, however anything is possible …

It is planned that the show will be of interest to a large number of people, because this art form is quite popular not only in Russia, but also in Europe, Asia and, we hope, will now gain interest in Australia.

The exhibition was named “The Secret History of White and Blue Colors” in honor of the style of the artwork. We call it Gzhel and traces its history back to Ancient Russia, when pottery was painted with these two colors: blue and white.
