Although the ultra-modern design of rooms is unthinkable without metal and plastic, wood has always been, is and will be a relevant and in-demand material. Moreover, wood furniture is not necessarily boring and banal. Take a look at these chairs, for example. Or is it better to call them chairs? It is hard to say…

These seats were designed by Matthias Pliessnig. According to him, this series was inspired by boats, ships: the shape itself, and also waves, when the bow of the boat cuts the water, and behind it it connects again. Working on the idea, the designer tried to capture the movement of water in a motionless tree.

The seats look like they were "pushed" by a sitting person. So when someone really sits on them, the wood looks soft like a pillow. A very unusual experience.

And also thanks to the unusual design, the seats do not look solid and heavy, like other wooden things, but on the contrary - weightless, light, fragile. Moreover, they are very durable.

The author of a unique collection is a student, he is studying at the Faculty of Furniture Design and Sculpture and now lives in Madison, Wisconsin, USA.
