Agree, we all want to lift the curtain of time and see what awaits us in the future. Architectural opportunities are developing extremely quickly, and already now there are such buildings that are breathtaking, and what will happen in a few years is scary to imagine. However, we give you the opportunity to see what multi-millionaires and corporations are capable of trying to surpass each other in search of a crazy new project for their buildings, which do not look like buildings anymore.
Nine projects that are in the final stages of planning or have already begun their construction. Two of them, including the one in the picture above, are from Russia. Welcome to the future, friends.
1. Aqua. USA

From a distance it may seem that this skyscraper, whose construction will be completed in 2009, is similar to all the others, of which there are thousands in Chicago. But if you get closer, you will be amazed at the ripple and wave effect that the architects managed to create with the help of balconies of various shapes and sizes. The whole building is literally strewn with them from top to bottom.

2. Chicago Spire, USA

This phenomenal spire, which will be built in the same Chicago in 2010, will become the tallest residential building in the world, and the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere. It seems that the designers accidentally stumbled upon a drill while developing the project, but one thing is for sure - this building, 609 meters high, will dominate the Chicago sky.

3. CCTV headquarters, China

This building with a height of only 234 meters was not created so that it could be seen from afar, but it will definitely gather its crowd of enthusiastic onlookers. This building will be another incredible addition to the Beijing landscape, and is slated to open in time for the 2008 Olympic Games. The architects named the shape of the building z criss-cross, and apparently that corner will not be supported by any support. Well, hopefully there will be a transparent floor.

4. Hotel Regatta, Jakarta

The developers of this design hit the nautical theme and say that ten small buildings are sailboats, and the large one is a lighthouse. Perhaps this lighthouse is one of the most extraordinary buildings I have ever seen, and I will hope that the end result will at least slightly resemble this 3D model.

5. Residential building Antilia, India

The construction of this residential building met with a lot of indignation from local residents. And no wonder: in a city where 65% of residents live in slums, this skyscraper looks lurid. The politicians wisely decided not to interfere in construction matters. After the initial shock of this building, which is somewhat reminiscent of the CD stand from Ikea, it is clear that this building may well become a unique green part of the city's architecture.
6. Russian Tower, Russia

And here is the first of the two buildings included in this review, which is being built in Russia. Or rather, in Moscow. It is planned to be built by 2012, and it will be the tallest building in Europe, about twice the height of the Eiffel Tower. An observation deck will be made upstairs, and the view from there, apparently, will be gorgeous. Construction, by the way, is already in full swing, and has been entrusted to Foster & Partners, which occupies the Gherkin Building in London's main financial district and the Spaceport in America.
7. Penang City Center, Malaysia

All the last months there has been a discussion of this very interesting project, but now it is going through the final stages of approval and its construction will begin in the very near future. True, in any case, due to the huge scale of the project, the completion of construction can hardly be expected earlier than 15 years later. This entire center resembles a science fiction city with two two-hundred-meter towers, and it will completely change the appearance of the tiny, until now little-known island of Penang.

8. Gazprom headquarters, Russia

And here is the second building from Russia, but what a! A 300-meter glass flame in St. Petersburg will eclipse all surrounding buildings nearby. Depending on the position of the sun, it will change color up to ten times a day. However, poor Petersburgers, for whom the old classical buildings are much nicer, have already christened the tower "Corn on the cob". Be that as it may, the scope of Gazprom is amazing.

9. Burj Dubai, Dubai

This is a very tall building. So tall that when it is finished next year, it will be the tallest structure in the world ever made by man, and by a wide margin. Apart from the antennas, the tallest building is still considered to be Taipei, 101 in Taiwan, which is only 509 meters away. In this building, according to the most preliminary estimates, it will be 818.
Pay attention to the photos. Skyscrapers in Dubai used to look very tall.
