While some people are pondering how to re-equip a balcony in order to organize an office or a dining room there, others grab their heads, trying to figure out where to store a bicycle, conservation, dryer, because there is no loggia in their apartment. Novate.ru offers some useful ideas to help you find a place for many things.
1. Wet laundry

A tumble dryer is not a cheap pleasure. And a place for her is rarely found, especially when it comes to the Khrushchev. That is why most housewives turn the balcony into a drying room by pulling a few ropes under the ceiling. But what if there is no balcony, and changing the washing machine to a new two-in-one is not included in the plans?
The best option is folding clothes dryers. They can be stationary or mobile, so that you can move them from place to place. Dryers can move out, recline, pull out like a box on telescopic guides. The main advantage of folding and folding models is that when folded, they are quite compact and do not spoil the appearance of the bathroom, especially if they fit into the interior. As for portable dryers, which when unfolded resemble an ironing board, they have a significant drawback, despite the good capacity of the laundry: they are simply too lazy to clean up after use. As a result, your bedroom or living room turns into a drying room, which clearly does not benefit the interior.
2. Ironing board

Another thing that is customary to keep on the balcony. We offer to initially purchase not a stationary ironing board, but a folding wall model. The ideal option would be a board that hides behind a mirror. Thus, you can solve two problems at once: hang a mirror in the hallway in order to be able to assess your appearance before leaving the apartment, and hide the ironing board from prying eyes.
You can also find folding boards that slide out of a kitchen cabinet drawer. In this case, the process of ironing linen and clothes will take place in the kitchen. But it is worth noting that such models are in most cases much more compact than the usual ones.
3. Spare chairs

There is a category of furniture that we don't need every day. For example, additional chairs that you keep in the apartment in case guests come. If there is not enough space in the living room or in the kitchen, such interior items will occupy the entire free area, depriving you of the opportunity for maneuvers.
It should be noted immediately that the spare chairs must be foldable. In this case, it will be possible to provide for a cabinet or section for them within the framework of the storage system. As a last resort, such chairs can simply be hung on a hook. By the way, if you pick them up to match the walls, then they will merge with the decor of the room, without attracting too much attention.
4. Bicycle

This vehicle is very large, so it is clearly not possible to put it in a box like rollers. Designers are of the following opinion: if you want to hide something, put it in the most conspicuous place. Just get your wheel covers right away so that there is no question of cleanliness.
When the bike is left on the balcony, vertical storage is usually used so that it takes up the minimum amount of space. But when it is necessary to fit the transport into the interior of the apartment, it is more expedient to resort to horizontal fastening to the frame. In this case, the bike can be hung on ordinary hooks, similar to those used for tires in the garage, or you can purchase special holders-"shelves" for your own purposes.
It's good if they start looking for a place for a bicycle at the stage of developing a design project for an apartment. For example, in some hallways, the closet is removed in order to place a section for parking a bicycle in its place. But this can be done only if the house has a dressing room and a closet in the corridor is not really needed.
5. Conservation

Not all pickles can be stored at room temperature - that is why grandmothers and mothers taught us that cans with canned food should be sent to the basement or to the balcony so that their contents do not deteriorate. In an apartment without a balcony, a second refrigerator would be a good option.
You can put jars that can be stored at room temperature in the basement drawer of the kitchen - its depth should be enough for small containers. And if you combine it with the lower drawer of the kitchen unit, then you get a place to store truly giant cans of canned goods.
Also notice if there is a gap between the refrigerator and the wall. The fact is that a narrow pull-out section fits perfectly in this place, which is ideal for sauces, jams and pickles in tall, small-diameter jars.
6. Simple things

For other things that do not differ in large weight or dimensions, linen boxes in beds, niches under the seats of kitchen corners and sofas are suitable. Even small poufs in most cases are equipped with hinged lids and empty space inside. So, under the bed and sofa, you can safely store heavy objects, for example, books, bedding sets or warm clothes. But leave poufs and drawers of coffee tables for light things - chargers, office supplies.
Not enough storage space? Equip the podium. In the bedroom, it will become an excellent place for the bed (and if you find a good mattress, it will replace it), in the nursery it will turn into a stage for performances, in the living room it will be used as a zoning element.
If the podium provides for steps, you can make them with hinged covers and free space inside. Also, sliding sections are provided from the end. Seasonal shoes, magazines and even a box with New Year's toys will find their place in them.
7. Spare textiles

Towels, bed linen, curtains, tablecloths - if there is no balcony and additional space in the closet, the question also arises with the storage of textiles. A great idea in this case would be shelves above the door or mezzanines. Many treat them negatively, as this storage method eats up space and makes the ceiling "lower", moreover, it resembles Soviet interiors. However, if desired, they can be made completely invisible so that their presence does not greatly affect the design. To do this, give up accessories and choose mezzanines to match the walls. In this case, they will merge with the surface, and no one will guess that this is not a part of the wall, but a spacious niche for things.
