China's Broad Group has embarked on an ambitious ultra-high-speed modular high-rise building project. A similar method was tested in the construction of hospitals and hospitals, which were built in a matter of days during the period of the threat of an epidemic. Improving the innovative modular building technology using the Living Building prefabricated structures, they were able to erect and even commission a 10-storey residential building in a fantastic record time - in just 28 hours and 45 minutes.
According to the Novate.ru editors, the experiment took place in the city of Changsha, where insulated blocks of apartments with built-in electrical wiring, water supply and sewerage pipes, ventilation shafts, with a fine interior and exterior, and also fully glazed were delivered by ordinary trucks. In order to assemble the apartment building, it took only three cranes and a team of workers who bolted the modules together, connected each apartment to the common building communications, and then to the central ones.
To achieve this speed and efficiency, all building components and apartment modules were prefabricated at the company's factory, and their size was calculated for reasons of practicality of transportation (one block must fit into the back of a truck).
It is also worth noting that the modules are made of lightweight, but extra strong materials, which are 10 times lighter than concrete blocks of the same size. At the same time, the developers ensure that the material from which the Living Buildin prefabricated structures are created is 100 times stronger than traditional building materials. Plus, the energy efficiency and environmental friendliness of modular blocks far exceed those of similar products made from popular and well-known materials. This circumstance simplifies the work with the blocks (less equipment and people are involved), and also reduces the cost of the construction process, which is quite important in the current realities on the real estate market.
Remarkable: The developers of the Broad Group argue that houses will soon be "stamped" as auto parts at different factories, and then only assembled into a single unit in a matter of days. Using this technology, it is possible to erect buildings up to 200 stories high.
It is difficult to say how durable such structures will be, but according to the calculations of the developers, for the stainless steel used in the Living Buildin prefabricated structure, the service life is determined at 1,000 years.
