What can you do with an old metal barrel that has a hole in it? Most likely, you will not be able to use this for its intended purpose. Many owners would just throw it away or, at best, adapt it as a trash can. However, you can make something really useful out of an old barrel.

What you need: grinder, cutting discs 100-150 mm, hammer not lighter than 150 g, trowel trowel, dishes for mixing mortar, gas burner, metal pipe, old barrel, strip of roofing (galvanized) iron, refractory brick, cement, polystyrene beams

If an unnecessary metal barrel with a wall thickness of at least 1.5 mm appears on the farm, you can make a small outdoor stove from it. Having prepared all of the above, you can immediately get to work. It should be noted right away that a metal pipe is needed for a chimney. Its diameter must be at least 100 mm, and its height must be at least 1.5 meters. First of all, the barrel itself is prepared: the lower part of the vessel is cut off with the help of a grinder.

The cut metal ring is straightened, after which U-shaped grips are made at its edges with a hammer. Next, we return to the barrel and cut a rectangular hole in it, the height of which should be slightly less than the width of the previously cut metal ring. On the contrary, another smaller rectangle is cut out from the cut entrance, which will work as a blower.

The ring with U-shaped grips is bent and inserted into the barrel, after which the grippers are attached to the slotted door. It is also recommended to flatten the barrel so that it changes from round to oblong oval.

Next, a piece of foam is taken. It makes grooves 10-15 mm wide with a pitch of 15-25 mm. This block is placed inside the future stove, after which a cement mortar is prepared and laid. Cement is poured into the gap between the wall and the foam. Pieces of refractory bricks can be added to the concrete. Having leveled the solution to the level of the foam, we lay the pieces of reinforcement on top. A ring with grips is placed on the doorway of the stove, alignment is carried out.

A layer of sand is poured on top. Two plastic buckets are placed, in place of which holes for the fire and chimney should remain. Of course, all manipulations should be performed as the solution dries. This stage of work is the longest. Each step can take up to one day. When the furnace cover is poured with concrete, you should wait another 3-5 days. Then you will need to pull out the buckets and remove all the sand from the oven. Styrofoam is easiest to burn with a gas burner. Now all that remains is to install the chimney and wait 25 days for the cement to finally get stronger.
