Today, citizens of the Russian Federation are limited in the number of firearms they can purchase. According to the law, there can be no more than five per person. For hunters and athletes, this limitation can cause a lot of inconvenience, especially when it comes to the appearance of new samples on the market. Concern "Kalashnikov" is preparing to release its new AKV. The main feature of the weapon is that, in fact, it is not one, but three carbines for one permit.
In most countries of the world, rifled "civilian" weapons are, in one way or another, a modification of the army. Concern "Kalashnikov" is one of the few enterprises that systematically breaks this pattern and develops weapons for hunters and athletes literally from scratch. Just such a model is the new AKV-521 - Kalashnikov-Vlasenko assault rifle. It is based on the original AK, but the number of changes in the project of Valentin Vlasenko is so great that, in fact, this is a completely new machine. Strictly speaking, it was made, not a new carbine, but a whole rifle complex.
The main feature of the AKV-521 is that the weapon allows you to easily and naturally change the barrels. At the same time, the modular design of the novelty is organized in such a way that the alteration of the machine does not violate the rules of permission of the ROC. And this means that a citizen under one license actually buys three different carbines at once: chambered for 7.62x39 mm, chambered for 5.45x39 mm and under.223 Rem. It is also worth recalling that neither the trigger box nor the butt of the weapon falls into the category of "main parts of the weapon" by law, and therefore, in the case of the AKV-521, they can also be replaced.
Disassembly and assembly, including the installation of another barrel in the AKV-521, is performed in a matter of minutes. Essentially, the weapon is split into two large modules. All operations are carried out using a standard tool from a pencil case. A nice addition is that the new product has the opportunity to purchase barrels with a left-hand bolt, which is especially important for sports shooters. Also, the problem with the STP drift was completely solved in the case of installing the sight on the receiver cover.
Separately, it should be noted that a system with three interchangeable barrels will have a beneficial effect not only on the number of licenses used for the purchase of weapons. It is also important that this approach will allow amateurs of sport shooting and hunting to save on the purchase of weapons. Still, a removable barrel costs an order of magnitude less than a whole carbine or rifle.
