It was 1993. Not so long ago, the Soviet Union collapsed, and there was still no new weapons legislation in the vast majority of the former Soviet republics. Moreover, an outright mess began around - the "dashing 90s" came. Somewhere in the midst of all this social storm and events of epoch-making scale, another less noticeable, but no less interesting happened: the first model of the "Farmer's Weapon" was created.

The Farmer's Weapon was designed in 1993 and, as the name suggests, was conceived as the main weapon of a new nascent class of rural entrepreneurs in Russia. After all, collective farms were not needed, and in 1993 many thought that the future would really be in small individual farms, and by no means in giant agricultural holdings that were part of corporations. The gun was made on the basis of a 4-gauge flare gun by installing a butt on it and mounting a plug-in barrel.

The product received the designation OF-93. The gun was conceived as extremely multifunctional. Firstly, at the request of the customer, it was possible to mount smooth barrels of various calibers: 12, 16, 20, 28 and 32. Secondly, if the buyer chose the caliber 28, he automatically received the opportunity to shoot not only rifle cartridges, but also veterinary ampoules for injections of animals. Third, the removal of the barrel still allowed this thing to be used as a flare gun.

In general, the design of the OF-93 was extremely unpretentious. Of the advantages of the gun, it was possible to single out only its low weight. The recoil momentum was quite tough; the OF-3 had to be charged every time after a shot. The hook release was hard enough. Interestingly, the gun was produced in as many as four modifications, which differed in the butt and the location of the sighting devices. In general, the design of the OF-3 was such that many former Soviet locksmiths could make such a contraption on their own.

Weapons did not become widespread, although they managed to become a prominent representative of their "new" time. The dimensions of the weapon were 803x41x176 mm. The descent force reached 2 kgf. The mass of a 12-gauge gun with a barrel was 2.2 kg. Removable barrel length - 470 mm. An automatic fuse was provided in the design. Loading and removing the sleeve was carried out by tilting the barrel.
