A door covered with veneer is not uncommon these days. However, this material has one huge drawback: over time, it creeps, cracks, bursts. As a result, chips and cracks that are unpleasant to the eye appear. To look at such a door is one continuous disappointment. However, the situation can be corrected with your own hands and with the help of available means.

What you need: veneer, ruler, pencil, rail, stationery knife, kitchen knife, PVA glue, glitter impregnation, screwdrivers, hammer
For all the seeming complexity, the operation to restore the door is not really tricky. First and foremost, we remove our door from its hinges. Most likely, you will have to knock out the pins for this. However, options are possible, since the loops are very different. In the future, the door is placed on the table, the extent of the damage is assessed, and the area of veneer that needs to be cut is determined.

The markup is done. You need to cut off the damaged veneer with a margin. Trimming is done with a knife. In order for everything to work out smoothly and neatly, do not forget to apply a limiter rail. After trimming, the remains and unevenness of the veneer are roughly sanded with an ordinary knife. Next, the area of the door freed from the coating is polished using 80-grit sandpaper.

We attach a new piece of finishing material and make the necessary markup. Further, all unnecessary is cut off from a sheet of new veneer. Immediately after that, we take wood glue and carefully coat the cleaned section of the door with it. Do the same with the corresponding side of the veneer. We glue a piece of material and thoroughly smooth its surface. Further, the matter remains small. It is necessary to cut off all the protruding fragments of the finishing material and thoroughly walk along the door with sandpaper, wait until the glue dries and return the door to its hinges.
