A brand new "Grant" with an updated power unit appeared on the market in May 2021. In general, motorists praised the new domestic car, noting that at the moment in its price segment in terms of most characteristics, except for the turning angle, the new Grant leaves more than half of its competitors behind. However, there is no good without a silver lining, and therefore, almost 3 months later, the first reviews of problems and malfunctions appeared. So what are you most often criticized for?
1. The machine does not pull
The new power unit on the Grant is a seriously redesigned old 8-valve. It had 48 modernized parts. As a result, the power increased according to the passport by 3 horsepower to 90 hp. The difference was noticed by those who drove the previous cars of the family. However, the problem with the lack of power at low revs is still going nowhere. Before moving off, you still have to gain momentum, and some inclines cannot be taken with a stroke in 4th gear.
2. Trunk lock
Many motorists complained about the work of the trunk lock, which suspiciously often breaks, like the trunk itself. Already with a mileage of 800-900 km, the boot lid starts to close spontaneously when opened, which causes a lot of unnecessary difficulties during loading.
3. Poor assembly
The assembly of the updated "Grants" also raises many questions. The first problems, according to motorists, appear already at 600-700 km of run. The vast majority of spontaneous breakdowns are guaranteed. When squeaks and knocks appear in the cabin, it turns out that something needed to be additionally tightened. Most often, problems arise in the joint of the cardan and the rear suspension.
4. Fuel consumption
While the fuel consumption of the brand new "Grants" raises only questions. The data received is extremely ambiguous. It is recommended to fill the car with AI-95 gasoline, while AI-92 remains as an acceptable fuel. The passport consumption of gasoline per 100 km is 9.4 liters for the city, 5.3 for the countryside and 6.8 for the combined cycle. Measurements of motorists show that in the urban cycle, consumption can both rise to a value of 10.3 liters and drop to 9.2 liters. The results for the extra-urban and mixed cycle are also contradictory.
