A modern bathroom is no longer just a room for hygiene procedures, but an individual space where we spend a lot of time - take care of ourselves, relax and replenish our energy reserves. Therefore, it is so important that everything here caresses the eye and is in its place.
A bath screen is an excellent splash protection solution. With such a device, everything outside the shower area is reliably closed from water. This means that after a shower, you do not have to dry and wipe the surrounding objects and no one will slip on the wet floor. The glass bath screen is good not only for safety, but also as a design element - it adds a special aesthetic to the space and makes it more modern.
Today, in hypermarkets for home goods, you can find many options for such fences - different in design, size and price. Elena Makarova, Head of Private Label Development, tells about what kind of screens are and how to use them to bring cleanliness and order, and at the same time to transform the interior of the bathroom. "Leroy Merlin".
1. Glass or plastic?
The bath partition can be made of glass or plastic. Glass is a practical, sustainable, sustainable and more expensive option. Plastic is cheaper, lighter in weight, but it inevitably becomes covered with scratches over time, "gets washed out" and does not look so aesthetically pleasing anymore.
As a rule, thick (up to 8 mm) tempered glass is used for the production of screens, resistant to moderate mechanical stress. It can be transparent, matte or combined - with inserts of deaf fragments.

Transparent glass transmits light well, so such a fence is barely visible to the eye, while frosted glass impedes the light flux and visually eats up the space. Therefore, in the case of frosted glass, it is important to think over the lighting scenarios in advance. But there is also a plus - an opaque partition creates privacy, which is especially important for large families and combined bathrooms.

The design of the screen is a glass (or plastic) sheet with aluminum profiles that are attached to the walls and side of the bathtub. Special rubberized elements reliably protect the joints from moisture penetration.

So that the drops do not dry out on the glass, but drip quickly and without a trace, the surface is treated with a special water-repellent coating (note that not all screens have it, so check this point in the store). If you opt for a glass screen, you don't have to deal with mold, as is the case with fabric curtains. It is enough to regularly wipe the glass sheet and connecting elements with a soft cloth moistened with a special agent. It is not recommended to use abrasive detergents, as well as acid- and chlorine-containing preparations for cleaning.
2. Sliding screen
To create an enclosed shower space, use a sliding door system. This solution will completely isolate the bathtub and create the effect of a shower stall. The number of doors in a standard sliding screen is from 2 to 6, which gives a wide range of sizes and configurations for different baths, from the smallest to the "king".

The doors are installed using an aluminum profile and open with an overlap, moving along the guides. The mechanism ensures tight adhesion of the shutters to each other and a smooth, quiet movement. Various glass textures are available - from completely transparent to embossed matte. The height of the screen is from 120 to 150 cm, which does not interfere with normal ventilation, while it is sufficient to protect against splashes.
Glass and aluminum are environmentally friendly materials that do not react with water, cosmetics or cleaning products. Choose a profile color to match your interior - most often it is silver (matte or glossy), black and white.
3. Swivel screen
The pivot mechanism is one or more revolving sashes fixed to the wall using an aluminum profile. The lower end of the blade is equipped with a removable rubberized element that prevents leaks. There are two options for the location of the partition - right and left.

This design provides the most convenient access to the mixer, shower column and other elements of the bath, since the sash rotates 180 degrees relative to the vertical mount. There are models of screens that are equipped with a towel holder, which is fixed on the sash so that the towel is always at hand.

In addition, the hinged partition makes it easy to clean the bathroom - if necessary, it can be turned to any convenient angle to get to the narrowest and most difficult-to-reach places.
4. Screens with deflectors
They consist of two panels: fixed and movable. Such partitions provide free access to the bath and reliably protect against splashing water. Thanks to the fixed part, it is safe to open the screens - you will definitely not touch nearby objects, furniture or a mixer.

Screens are supplied with a set of fasteners and instructions for installation, so this solution is quite possible to implement on your own.
